What Do You Want in 2010?

in Just Wanting It All

What do you want in 2010? Have you thought about it? Have you made any resolutions? I am not one to make resolutions. I’ve tried it, but decided I’m not good at keeping them or even remembering them. I start out strong and fizzle out. So now I like to think of resolutions as goals or things I want to accomplish (Yes, sounds like a resolution, I know…I know…).

There is just something about the word resolution that makes me feel like I am setting myself up for failure. A resolution is something that a lot of people proclaim out loud in front of witnesses. Then they are held accountable for them every time they see these people. Too much pressure for me. I like to declare to myself my own wants and goals for self-improvements in a more private way, this way I avoid the embarrassing moments when someone asks “How’s your resolutions going?” I can honestly say that I don’t make them because I choose not to call them that – HA! How do you like that!!

I do like to take this time and reflect on my life and think of what I like and don’t like. I also like to think of the things that I wanted to do but didn’t get around to doing and assess if they are something that I still have a desire to accomplish. If they are, then I will try again to work towards them in the New Year. That is why I prefer to use the words goals, dreams, and wants instead of resolutions. A resolution tends to be for the New Year. It makes me feel like it has a time limit and expiration date. It doesn’t seem to lend itself to be a goal that can take years to achieve. Maybe I’m putting too much emphasis on the word, but I just don’t like it.

My goals and wants for the New Year are:

  • I want to give myself a little more focus. Put myself first more.
  • I want to take care of my skin. Avoid too much sun, reduce the pores.
  • I want to achieve a healthier lifestyle by eating better and doing more challenging exercising.
  • I really want to accomplish one of my goals of starting an internet business. I have been working on the concept for months and need to just pull it all together and just do it.

I would love to hear your goals, dreams, and wants for the future. Remember, NO PRESSURE!! These are simply your wants and desire that you consider important in achieving and remain high on your to-do list. Maybe this is the year that you can start taking your wants more seriously. Don’t just let them drop off your list. Make them a priority and start working towards them in the New Year of 2010. You gotta start somewhere and why not now?

Skip the resolutions and start working towards your goals, dreams, and wants.
