What Does Wanting It All Mean?
Wanting and having it all, to me entails much more than materialistic things. It means being able to do the things I want to do. To continue growing as a women. First and foremost, I want my family to be happy, healthy, and achieving dreams. When that’s in sync, having it all to me means [...]
Welcome
Welcome to women wanting it all. I am a woman who wants it all, but what exactly does “wanting it all” mean? I believe it means different things to everyone and changes over time. I am not just talking about the obvious wants, such as I want to win the lottery, I want to be beautiful, ect. (even though those are good wants).
I am talking about things we want as we move through our every day lives. My wants change all the time and I am always adding and removing items from my Want To Do list. My wanting it all spans from large items, such as family, house, and career to the very minute of things, such as wanting to buy a new comforter just to freshen up the bedroom. I am constantly thinking of things I want, want to be, and want to do. I am not an idle person. I like to be challenged, inspired, and try new things. I think these characteristics feed my ever-changing wants. It keeps life interesting.
Why can’t I have it all? Who says I can’t. Having it all, to me entails much more than materialistic things. It means being able to do the things I want to do. To continue growing as a women. I work and I have a family. I don’t want to debate working moms vs. non-working moms, that is not what this is about. This is also not about being ungrateful for all that I have, I am. Its truly about me wanting to be fulfilled and do all the things that I want to do – without allowing guilt or other reasons stop me.
All of us have wants, but some of us never challenge ourselves to branch out and just go for it. If we never go for it we can quickly become stagnant and unhappy in our lives. What I have discovered about myself is that I am very capable of taking on multiple activities at once but something usually has to give in order to get to them all. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect and that’s OK.
I know there are many women out there just like me. Women who are multi-faceted and want to be able to do many things with their lives. Women who never want to stop growing. Interesting, fun, intelligent women who are confident and brave to expand their horizons and not take life so seriously.
I think my goal for this blog (at least for now what I want the goal to be) is to talk about the many things we women desire, accomplish, and want out of our lives, no matter how trivial. I also would like to discuss how we go about achieving our wants. Do you want to cut your hair short one day? Do you want to get crazy and experiment but are afraid of what people might think? Do you want to buy 1 pair of crazy expensive, hot shoes or settle for the 3 pair of cheap ugly ones because they are on sale? Do you want to better yourself, your relationships, your life, your education? Why do we want crazy things? Then let’s talk about it here.
I will try and frequently post new discussions and let you know what my current wants are or what I thought they were. I will also be having guest writers post articles and share their stories. There are going to be several categories such as Silly Wants, Do I Dare Wants, Work, Home, and Relationship Wants. The list is endless. I can’t wait until this catches on and we start engaging in some great discussions.
Let me hear your stories of what “Wanting It All” means to you.
Talk to you soon.
